Willa Fern Broussard

Willa Fern Alexis Broussard, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Amant, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, fishing, dancing, playing her family card game, listening to music, and taking trips along the Gulf Coast. She is survived by her daughters, Gwen Martin (Tim) and Darlene Taylor (Greg); stepdaughters, Phyllis Stevens (Bob), Carla Edmonston (Murphy); stepsons, Mike Broussard Sr. (Marsha), Steve Broussard (Tammie) and Jerry “Jug” Broussard (Cindy); brother, Howard “Buck” Alexis (Christine); grandchildren, Kari, Jeremy, Laci, Jared, Michael, Erica, Mike Jr., Dayna, Robert, Cody, Paisley, Kaci, Kelsie, Clint, Randi, Reagan, and Brittany; and numerous great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews, a special nephew, Wayne Burton. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard B. and Lucille Alexis, Sr.; loving husband, John D. Broussard Jr.; son, Michael R. Murphy; granddaughter, Katelin Dorris; sister, Alice A. Burton; brothers, Leon “Jim” Alexis, Jerry A. Alexis, Sr., Charles E. Stoetzner and Glenn H. Stoetzner. The pallbearers will be Mike Broussard Sr., Steve Broussard, Jeremy Martin, Jared Taylor, Michael Taylor and Rob Bowlin. The honorary pallbearers will be Mason Hill, Alex Bowlin and Brady Seymore.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Then continuing on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 8:30 am until the funeral services for 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Richardson Cemetery in St. Amant. Pastor Joey Mack will be officiating.
