
Willie "T-Man" Marchand Jr., 53, fought a long courageous battle with cancer and went to join his waiting family in heaven on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011. He is survived by his children, Todd and Kayla Marchand; and grandchildren, Talon Smith, Zanna and Hunter Boudreaux, and Tori Abbott. Also survived by his mother, Violet Cornett Guitreau; significant other, Karen Marchand; sisters, Debbie Ledoux and husband Mark, Beth Taylor and husband Johnny, Patty Picou, and Bonnie Monaret and significant other Dave; nieces and nephews, Keith Picou, Aimee Wheat, Johnny Taylor, January Berteau, Ritchie Ledoux, David McElveen, Ashley Ledoux, Haley Lambert and Brittany Monaret; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews. Also survived by Bradley and Britney Boudreaux. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Marchand; father, Willie Marchand Sr.; maternal grandparents, Avery "Black" and Mae Brown Cornett; paternal grandparents, Andrew and Virgie Acy Marchand; and great-niece, Angel Grace Wheat. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement, on Monday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jason Palermo. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd Marchand, Johnny Taylor Jr., Keith Picou, Ritchie Ledoux, David McElveen and Bradley Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearer is Johnny Taylor Sr. The family sends special thanks to Dr. Schmeeckle at LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center and the staff of the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.
