John Ybarbo Sr.

John Ybarbo Sr. was born May 9, 1941 in Gonzales, TX to the late Mr. Jesus Ybarbo and Mrs. Alvina Viela. He later married Linda Bazan in 1966 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. John passed away in his home Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Gonzales, TX. John was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Gonzales. He worked for the City of Gonzales for seventeen years. In his younger years he enjoyed working on the Barfield Ranch with his close friends and spending his free time with his grandchildren. He was a great husband, loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents and son John Christopher Ybarbo Jr. He is survived by his wife Linda Bazan Ybarbo, two sons: Andy Ybarbo and David Allen Ybarbo both of Gonzales, two daughters: Juanita Ybarbo of Kingsville, TX and Sadie Ybarbo of Gonzales, TX one brother Ben Ybarbo of Bastrop, TX, five sisters: Victoria Ybarbo, Sadie Canales, Georgie Pro, Elizabeth Ybarbo, Margie Gonzales all of Gonzales, TX, four grandchildren: Michael J. Medrano, Andrea Medrano, Michael Anthony Cardenas, John Christopher Ybarbo III, and one great-grandchild Alena Rodriguez. Graveside Services are to be held for Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 3:00pm at the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales, TX with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Pallbearers are: John Barfield Jr., Nolan Casares, Ovidrio Garza, Rene Cirilo, Alonzo Cirilo, Anthony Cirilo, Honorary Pallbearers are: Joe Ybarbo and Carney Zambrano. Arrangements under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home, Gonzales, TX.
