A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2 PM at Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas with Father Stan Fiuk officiating. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 7 PM at Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas with Deacon Alfonso Moreno officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 PM on Thursday at Buffington Funeral Home.
Julio was born on August 13, 1970 in Gonzales, Texas. He was the son of Julio and Georgia (Ybarbo) Proa. He graduated from Gonzales High School. He liked to cook and have BBQs with family and friends. He liked to help around the house and watch horror movies on TV. He liked to go fishing and he was wiling to help anyone in need.
Julio is survived by his mother; Georgia Proa, one son: Julio Joshua Proa of Gonzales, Texas, two daughters; Samantha Proa of Gonzales, Texas and Cassidy Proa of Gonzales, Texas. He is also survived by two brothers, Domingo Proa and his wife, Jo Ann Padilla of Gonzales, Texas; Daavid Proa of Fort Worth, Texas, and one sister, Beronica Proa of Gonzales, Texas. He was preceeded in death by his father Julio Proa.
Pallbearers for Mr. Proa will be: Martin Ramirez, Martin Ramirez, Jr., Stephen Cobbler, Chachi Carrizales, Alonzo Sirilo, James Pageant, Fermin Cerda, and Guadalupe Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Domingo Proa, Jr., Lee Sirilo, and Joe Ybarbo.
