Born July 25, 1940 in Brazil, Indiana to Mildred J. And Robert H. Malsom. She saw the face of her savior on December 16th, 2025. We are sure she is having a joyous reunion with her parents and her beloved sister, Bonnie. She was married to the love of her life, Kenn, for 63 years and that love produced 4 children; Eric (Sheila) Miller, Leah (Todd) Goodwin, Lisa (John) Ferrell and Lora (Terry) Hedges. She adored all 11 of her grandchildren and all 12 of her great grandchildren.
In her youth, Barbara found herself on the Church bus every Sunday—playing kickball, finding friends, and finding her love for Christ. It is through this love and this continued relationship that she felt called to a life of service—serving her family, her church, and her community. After graduating from Olivet Nazarene University in 1962 (and meeting her husband Kenn), she began a 40-year teaching career that spanned three states and hundreds of children. At church, Barbara gave of herself in every facet. As a worship leader, board secretary, Sunday School teacher, Missionary president, and even at times preacher, her life’s intention was to share Jesus with everyone. Her children remember the Christmases spent in song & fellowship with their parents leading Room-In-The-Inn at College Hill. Her church remembers years of Sunday’s listening to Grandma Barb teach the story of Jesus to their littles of all ages & their elderly at the Trevecca Towers. At home, after retirement, Barbara’s passion for crafting became a part-time career. If you were to visit the Millers, no doubt you would find Barb in her sanctuary of stamps, working on the next birthday card and her upcoming Stampin’ up club—all cards handmade with love. In the last years of her life, Barbara found peace and comfort in her Kenn, the real-life Barbie & Kenn (as she would always mention to anyone new) and the sustaining grace of her Heavenly Father.
Barbara Nadine Miller was a woman of forceful love, a love for Jesus so embodied in her exuberant joy for life. In her smile, you found comfort. In her laugh, you felt seen. God surely must have let us witness a small glimpse of His love in her existence. For that, she would feel the most blessed.
