Brooke was born on September 15, 1976, and was a lifelong resident of White House, Tennessee. She spent her entire life in the community she loved and resided in her childhood home until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Hester McCormack; her maternal grandparents, Jeff and Eula Hester; her paternal grandparents, John Cartwright “JC” and Olean McCormack; and her nephew, Bobby McCormack.
She is survived by her father, Bobby McCormack; her sons, Matthew McCormack and Luke Trent; her sisters, Sherry (Ken) Myers, Sharon Costa, and Shannon (Tommy) Baron; and her grandchildren, Magnolia and Winston McCormack. She is also survived by her nephew, Tyler (Alicia) Myers; her niece, Amy (Brandon) Newton; and her great-nieces and great-nephew, Emerie and Emilia Newton and Harrison and Josie Myers.
Brooke was a proud graduate of White House High School’s Class of 1994. She went on to earn her Associate of Applied Science at Volunteer State Community College in 2000. Brooke dedicated over two decades to the Thunder Heart Performance team, where her exceptional work ethic became one of her defining qualities. She deeply valued the many friendships she built with both customers and co workers, relationships that brought her a great sense of fulfillment throughout her career.
Family was the heart of Brooke’s life. As the baby of the family, she shared an especially close bond with her father and always remained a “daddy's girl”. Up until her last days, Brooke dedicated herself to caring for her father and being by his side. Brooke loved her two sons more than anything in this world. Being their mother and watching them grow into the young men they have become, was the greatest pride and purpose of her life. Even though her time with them was cut short, Brooke's love for her grandchildren will remain and be with them forever. She treasured each special relationship that she had with her sisters, nieces and nephews. Brooke remained deeply connected to her closest friends and their children, whom she loved like family.
Brooke enjoyed cheering on the White House Blue Devils, and for many years she found joy in attending both football and basketball games with her best friend, Heather, always by her side. She was known for her quick wit, her unique personality, and her ability to connect with just about everyone she met. She found happiness in the simple things—sharing meals, gathering around bonfires, traveling, shopping, celebrating milestones, attending get-togethers with family and friends, spending time at the beach, and making memories with those she loved.
Brooke battled cancer for over ten years with a strength that inspired everyone around her. In her final days, she was held close by family and dear friends who lovingly cared for her as she peacefully passed.
Brooke’s strength and spirit will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her. We hold close the comforting thought of her being reunited with those she missed so dearly — her mother, Janice; her nephew, Bobby; her dear childhood friend, Jennifer; and the many family members and friends who went before her. Brooke often reminded us that love doesn’t end, and in her own words, “This is not goodbye — just see you later!”
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice or Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in honor of Brooke McCormack. At Brooke’s request, no funeral services will be held. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
