James Dale Smiley, 68, passed away on March 23, 2026. Born March 9, 1958, "Daleboy", as his family and friends referred to him, will be remembered as a beloved and humorous "down to Earth" presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh James and Bonnie Johnson Smiley; and his brother, Buddy Hugh Smiley.
Dale is survived by his sister, Connie Smiley Henson (Orval); his daughter, Lindsay Graham (Matt); his grandchildren, Ramsey and Averie; and his significant other, Debbie Davidson.
Dale loved being a diesel mechanic, watching Nascar, and spending time with his Breakfast Buddies.
Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072, on April 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the American Heart Association in Dale's honor.
