Juanita Sanders Nicholson, age 94, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. Juanita was born Tuesday, December 10, 1929 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Preceding her in death are her parents, John Henry and Maggie Jarrell Sanders, husband, V. W. “Jack” Nicholson, and brothers, Michael Sanders, and Clayton Sanders.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Mike) Jones and Jill (Greg) Ketteman; grandchildren, Todd Jones, Lauren (Chad) Long, Jack (Ashley) Ketteman, Emilee Hart; great-grandchildren, Shelby Long, Addison Long, Hayden Long, Jane Ketteman, Callie Ketteman, Carter Ketteman, Corinne Hart, Adeline Hart, Camille Hart; sisters, Pat (Raymond) Wickard, Jewell Johns; sisters-in-law, Debbie Sanders and Nancy Knox; and nieces and nephews.
Juanita was a member of Cofer’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She worked for 30 years as a secretary in Metro Nashville Public Schools at Bordeaux and Cora Howe Elementary Schools. Juanita was a volunteer at Skyline Medical Center for 19 years and logged over 6,500 hours of service.
Visitation for Juanita will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
The celebration of life will be Thursday, March 28, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 S. Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee with Dr. Robert Picirilli and Rev. Steve Lytle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Garden of Gethsemane.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons, and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are the Truth Seekers Class at Cofer’s Chapel FWB Church and the Volunteers at Skyline Medical Center.
The family would like to sincerely thank The Hearth of Hendersonville for help in her transition to assisted living and NHC-Sumner, Gallatin and the nurses and techs on the 6000 Hallway who gave compassionate care especially during the last months of her life. The family also extends sincere thanks to Caris Hospice Healthcare for their kindness and professionalism in each visit and update, and for being with us in her last days.
