Mary JoAnn Stokes, age 79, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022. JoAnn was born Thursday, July 30, 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Haskell and Mary Brown Bryant; her husband, C. Carl Stokes; her two daughters, Regina Stokes Clark and Candice Stokes Carter.
Former co-owner of House of Hickory Bar-b-cue; she worked in Customer Service in JC Penney Catalog; and enjoyed her soap operas.
She is survived by her son, Carl Stokes and wife Vaneda; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends for JoAnn will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, followed by a celebration of life at 6:00 PM.
