

Nola Mai was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles F. Troxel; her second husband, Foster Everett Thomas; her parents, Monroe and Ruby Warren; three brothers, James Warren, Roy Warren, and Monroe Jr. Warren; one sister, Dorris McCrary; her son, Gary Troxel; and her daughter, Cynthia Troxel.
She is survived by her son, Charles A. (Debbie) Troxel; her son, Steven (Joy) Troxel; her daughter, Donna (Doug) Vaughn; her daughter, Angela Vawter; her sisters, Rose Hazelwood and Barbara Motschenbacher; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Nola Mai was a devoted member of Scottsboro First Baptist Church, and Pastor Sam Davis will officiate her service at Forest Lawn. She was a devout Christian whose faith guided her life. She found joy in spending time at the Senior Center playing bingo, as well as fishing.
Above all, Nola Mai loved her family deeply. Having raised six children, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished each generation. She had a gift for kindness, forming connections easily and welcoming others with open arms, often befriending those others might overlook or even shun. Her warmth, compassion, and genuine care for people will be remembered by all who knew her.
