Richard Michael "Rick" Joyce

Rick loved music and played both guitar and drums. In his younger years he was a member of the band Yesterday's Sorrow with his friends and family.

Though tremor syndrome and neuropathy prevented him from traveling, Rick developed and maintained friendships around the world through Skype and other online accounts, most notably with his friends called "The Little Rascals". He was a member of Zion Chapel Assembly of God.

A veteran of the US Air Force serving during Viet Nam and a computer analyst before his retirement in 2004, Rick is survived by his wife of 41 years, Peggy Joyce; sons, Shane (Carrie) Joyce, Brook (Kelly Robetson) Joyce; mother, Pauline Gregory Joyce; grandchildren,, Carter and Elliston Joyce, Avery and Hayden Vantrease; brother, Jeff Joyce; sisters, Patricia Briggs and Cyndi Faulkner.

A celebration of life will be 12:00 Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Marlor officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather to remember Rick at a visitation Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St.Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
