Roberta Carolyn Bowen

Age 80 (10/21/1934 – 05/03/2015)

She was born to the late Hollis and Myrtle (Runions) Wherry of Hickman County, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Emory “Buddy” Bowen, both of her parents, brother Clyde and sister Irene.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Kenny Bowen of Portland and Roger Bowen of Goodlettsville, brother Don Wherry of Stanton, California, granddaughter Kristi Bowen (Todd) Lincoln and great-grandson Max Lincoln of Goodlettsville, sister-In-Law Betty Vickery (Tom) Whitten of Greenbrier.

Roberta was born and raised in Hickman County, Tennessee. She was a proud military wife. She later moved with her husband and raised their family in northern Virginia. She worked for many years at Fairfax Hospital and retired from there after helping in their transition to the INOVA system. She enjoyed cooking big meals for her family and doing things for people to make them feel like they were something special, whether they were family or not. She was a big Titans and Volunteers fan. She loved to watch the birds, garden, do needle point and crossword puzzles.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening a t Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday morning, May7th at eleven o'clock at Middle TN State Veteran's Cemetery.
