Doug worked from age 17 for some 36 plus years with the Metropolitan Nashville retiring as a heavy equipment operator; as a pastime he was a collector of many things especially model machinery.
Doug is survived by his siblings; Stephen (Trena) Maxwell, Claudia M. (Bobby) Safley, Donna (Gary) Irwin, Joyce Maxwell, Rhonda Snell and June Mahan.
A celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. David Royalty officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as active pallbearers; Cru Stracener, Scott, Snell, Keith Stracener, Chad Stracener, Joe Snell, Landon Snell. Honorary will be Stephen Maxwell and Mike Baker.
Family and friends will gather to remember Doug at a visitation Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 12:00 until the service at 2:00 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Road Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
