He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Hitt; daughter, Kathy Collier; brother, Joe Havern Hitt and a sister, Norma Ruth.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah F. Hitt; his son, Jeff Hitt (Debbie); daughters, Debbie Golladay (Jeff) and Lynda Cobb (Wayne); 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Miranda (Dave).
A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm Monday, March 21, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 4pm until 8pm and 1 hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
