Mr. Donald D. Davidson, age 87, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 23, 2025. He was born on September 13, 1937, in St. Joseph, MO, to Douglas and Helen Davidson. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage.
Donald grew up in Matteson, IL where he met his beloved soulmate, Rosemary. They were married in 1961, later moving to Colorado Springs to enjoy the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. It was there that they raised two sons, Donald and Daniel. Donald, “Doug”, as he was also known, was a barber at the Air Force Academy, the Broadmoor Hotel and then finally at his own barber shop in downtown Colorado Springs. During his time as a barber, Donald had the honor of trimming many celebrities, government officials and sports figures. This was a privilege for him, and he loved recounting stories of these clients.
A lifelong love for the game of pool was a core part of his being. He loved the comradery of countless other pool aficionados, just as much as the game itself. Donald was also an avid traveler. He loved to hit the open road with Rosemary and the family. Whether it was a summer drive out to Matteson, IL to visit family, or to attend the Feast Days with his church. He loved to drive on the open road. In addition, he loved the game of golf. Getting together for a round of golf was another way that he enjoyed time with friends and family.
Donald is survived by his loving children, Donald and Christine Davidson, Daniel and Christine Davidson, his brother-in-law Robert Williamson and wife Nancy, and his grandchildren Paige, Lauren, Hannah, Landon, and Samuel. Donald’s legacy of love, warmth, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were lucky enough to know him. The easy laugh, goofy sense of humor, lover of jokes, fun conversations, and a huge smile will be deeply missed.
His ashes will be spread in Glennwood Canyon, Colorado. The family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
