

John served in the United States Army from July 1945 through July 1947, as a German language interpreter in the European theater in World War II. Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years to AMP, Inc., working as a machinist until his retirement in 1986.
He was married to Lois W. Ulrich for 64 years until her passing in 2016. John and Lois shared a life filled with love and commitment.
John had a passion for working with his hands, particularly in woodworking, where he crafted children's toys, puzzles, and various wooden creations. He also found joy in gardening, tending to roses, vegetables, and maintaining his yard with enthusiasm. Feeding his favorite birds, especially bluebirds and hummingbirds, brought him great pleasure throughout the year.
John is survived by his daughter, Jana Pompier, and son-in-law, Paul Pompier, of Goodyear, Arizona, as well as his son, John Michael Ulrich, of Issaquah, Washington. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois W. Ulrich.
John Ulrich will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his love for nature and craftsmanship.
