Joy Blogg

Joy was born on April 1st, 1945, in Joliet, Illinois as the youngest of five children. She grew up in Lockport, Illinois, attending Lockport Township High School before marrying William “Bill” Blogg on June 12th, 1965. Together they raised their two children, Jeff and Wendy, in Lockport, where they were very involved in the Lockport Township Park District and enjoyed family vacations to Sarasota, Florida. Joy and Bill retired to Goodyear, Arizona in 2003 where they soaked up the sun, traveled to tropical destinations like Hawaii, and enjoyed cruises.

Joy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and aunt who loved spending time with her family, shopping, traveling, crafting, and chatting with just about anyone. She took pride in decorating her home and hosting her family for many holidays. Joy was kind, friendly, and welcoming to all. Her spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, William Blogg; her two children, William Jeffrey (Laura) Blogg of Mokena, Illinois, and Wendy (Timothy) Cooper of Avondale, Arizona; five grandchildren, Christopher (Brad) Cook, Zachary Blogg, Katie Blogg (fiancé Kolton Harang), Kelci (Bryan) Burgoz, and Bayli (Tanner) Cypress; her sister-in-law, Judy Kijowski; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Myrtle (Carlock) Norton; her siblings, Irene Hope Kenney, Muriel “Fluffy” Strassenburg, Edward Jr. (Phyllis) Norton, and Ronald (Virginia) Norton; her in-laws, Francis and Margaret (Schlosser) Blogg; and her brother-in-law, Donald Kijowski.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home, 926 S. Litchfield Rd in Goodyear, Arizona at 1:00pm.

Joy’s life was filled with love, adventure, and kindness. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will be remembered in every holiday gathering, every warm smile, and every cherished memory shared by those she loved.
