Milton Gerald Bugbee, passed away on January 24, 2025. He led a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, wisdom, and kindness. Milton’s life was a beautiful story, unfolding in two distinct chapters, both marked by his deep love for family, his unwavering faith, and his lifelong commitment to education.
Milton's first chapter began with his high school sweetheart, Susan Koeppen. Together, they built a loving marriage that spanned 35 years. With Susan by his side, Milton grew in strength, character, and faith, sharing the joys of raising four wonderful children: Joel, Jill, Anne, and Kate. After Susan's passing, Milton found love once again with JoAnn Colbert, affectionately known as "Jobe." Their shared faith, love, and adventurous spirit helped them create a beautiful life together, blending families and traveling the world.
A dedicated educator, Milton earned a Bachelor's of Education, a Master's of Arts, and a Master’s in Education Administration. He spent 40 years serving as a teacher and principal, leaving a lasting impact on the students and families he served. Throughout his career, Milton believed that all children had the potential to excel, and he worked tirelessly to help them achieve their dreams.
Milton's Lutheran faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of his church, serving as chairman for two terms, leading Bible studies, and opening his home to both Lutheran and Catholic pastors. His faith was not just something he practiced, but something he lived. Milton’s love for God was reflected in his actions, and he embodied the words, “Love like Jesus.” He was also a talented hymn writer, singer, and artist. He created a family evening prayer and dinner grace that became cherished traditions. Known as "Gramps" and "Papa Milt" to his grandchildren, Milton’s love and guidance touched many lives.
