Sharon attended Hingham Public Schools, graduating in 1961, and went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from Northern Montana College in Havre. She dedicated several years to teaching in Hingham and Havre before marrying Roger Borlaug on February 7, 1971. Together, they started a farm where they raised their daughters, Krysti and Jodi.
Sharon's life was filled with adventures and cherished memories as she and Roger nurtured their family through farming, motorhome trips across the country, and supporting their daughters in various activities. At home, Sharon was known for her creative projects, from crafting blankets and doilies to gardening and raising animals. Her nurturing spirit was a blessing to her family.
As a grandmother, Sharon seamlessly transitioned her love to her grandchildren, teaching them to make lefse, noodles, and jam, and supporting them in all their endeavors. Her presence was a constant source of love and encouragement.
In her later years, Sharon and Roger spend winters in Goodyear, Arizona, enjoying warm days with friends and family. Summers were filled with family time, fishing trips to Canada, and supporting Roger's wood carving endeavors. Sharon also had a passion for travel, with memorable trips to Norway, Israel, Mexico, Alaska, and India.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Roger Borlaug; daughters, Krysti Krall (Joseph) and Jodi Wigen (Josh); sisters, Ardith Lingle, Twyla Anderson (Craig), and Darlene Spicher; brothers, Wayne Spicher, Ronald Spicher (Patty), and Douglas Spicher (Kathy); grandchildren, Teagan Wigen, Talea Wigen, Tayton Wigen, Tarryn Wigen, Kivah Krall, Asher Krall, and Benaiah Krall; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin and Eva Spicher; brother, Sonny Spicher; niece, Lexi Anderson; nephew, Randy Spicher; and many other family members and friends.
Sharon's life was a testament to love, family, and adventure. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
