

Sidney's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy. She is survived by her two daughters, Dori Whittaker and Dayle Angier, and her step-daughters, Stephanie Franz and Lisa Bennett. Her memory will also be cherished by her siblings SueAnne Powers, Lori McIntyre, Terry Francis, Mark Goodman, Scott Goodman, and Troy Goodman, as well as by five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Charles Franz, and her siblings Betty Jo Campbell, Grant Marland Goodman, and Nadene Galli. Sidney was also predeceased by her parents, Dona Voilet Talley and Grant Curtis Goodman, her stepmother, Ruth Marie Goodman and her stepfather, Joseph Peter Gaipa.
Sidney's vibrant spirit and zest for life were evident in all she did. She was a passionate fan of the Oakland A's and the California Angels, with Reggie Jackson being her all-time favorite baseball player. She was a concert pianist and played the organ for many church functions. Her love for music spanned from Classical to Disco, and she found immense joy in Christmas, her favorite time of year.
Her culinary talents were unparalleled, with family favorites like Chicken Paprikash and her renowned Thanksgiving dinners; she was always experimenting with new recipes that delighted those around her.
After high school, Sidney pursued higher education at USC and ultimately earned her doctorate at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Her professional journey always included a goal of being in business for herself, and she and her husband, David, owned a Medical Transcription business for many years.
Together, Sidney and David traveled extensively, finding joy in the Hawaiian Islands and being caregivers for ill family members prior to their passing.
Sidney was known for her caring nature and positive outlook on life. She was deeply involved in supporting organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the ASPCA.
Those who knew Sidney remember her infectious laughter and her ability to make any moment special. She lived her life with a sense of fun and exuberance that touched everyone she met.
A life well-lived, Sidney will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted wife, and a cherished friend. Her legacy of love, creativity, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
