

Thomas J. LoGudice, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and esteemed World War II veteran, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, at the age of 100 & 5 Months. Born on March 22, 1924, in Rochester, New York, Thomas was the beloved son of Gaspino and Virginia LoGudice and grew up alongside his two sisters, Rose and Josephine.
Thomas's early years were marked by his dedication and resilience. After just three years of high school, he left to support his family, working as a shoe salesperson before his enlistment. On February 20, 1943, at the age of 18, Thomas enlisted in the Army. Serving with honor as a Corporal and Chief Radar Operator with the 6230th Air Warning and Control Squadron, he played a crucial role in overseeing radar operations in Okinawa leading a 12-man crew with diligence and expertise. Thomas received two honorable discharges from the military. His first tour was from February 20, 1943 to November 15, 1945 and his second tour was from November 16, 1945 to March 4, 1947.
Following his service, Thomas moved to Los Angeles, California, where he met the love of his life, LeEtta Jean Crawford. They were married on July 7, 1947, and enjoyed a deeply fulfilling 61 years of marriage until LeEtta’s passing on September 30, 2008. Together, they had four children, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Thomas's greatest joy in life was to spoil Jean and to cherish their time together.
Thomas was a hard-working laborer with high expectations in providing for his family. In the late 50’s early 60’s Thomas became a Machinery Dealer working in Long Beach California, buying, and selling Big Heavy Equipment, Specializing in high Voltage Generators, and Compressors. Eventually, Thomas opened his own very successful Business in the Machinery Industry!! Some of his biggest customers were McDonnell Douglas and Hughes Aircraft. After he retired Thomas and Jean moved to Arizona.
His passions included frequent visits to La Vegas with Jean; “he even got to shoot Craps with Mickey Rooney”!! He also loved dining at his favorite spots like, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and savoring Costco Hot Dogs! He also found delight in going to the Casino here in AZ, and cherished his Canadian friend Linda’s renowned chicken soup, which he claimed was the best!! He Loved and Lived Life to the Fullest! His greatest joy in life was to spoil Jean and to cherish all their time together till she sadly passed in 2008.
In his last two years Thomas resided with his daughter Vickie, son-in-law Pete, and grandson Bandon, creating lasting memories and enjoying their companionship. The highlight of his last year was his 100th Birthday Celebration, a joyous occasion surrounded by family and friends that brought him immense happiness.
Thomas J. LoGudice will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his service to his country, and his vibrant spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we mourn his passing, we take comfort in the beautiful memories and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Thomas is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will forever hold him in their hearts. A memorial service will be held to honor his remarkable life and the indelible impact he made on those around him.
