

Alfonso Brown aka Mr. Brown, Pops, Cgies, Dad, Grandpa, or Grandfather was born to Leslie Brown and Zelma Brown on July 1, 1932, in Manchester, Jamaica. Alfonso was the youngest of 5. Following the death of their parents, Alfonso and his siblings Merina, Icyline, Oswald, Walvin moved to Glayde District in St Catherine, Jamaica to live with their uncle Thomas Brown and his wife Delie.
Alfonso meets and falls in love with Icodel Salmon in the early 60’s. They got married on June 8, 1968. This alliance created a relationship where they became parents and stepparents of sons and daughters. Alfonso worked at Ray and Nephew in Jamaica for many years.
In 1972, Alfonso migrated to Canada. Icodel joined him in 1974 and after 1 year in Canada they migrated to Morristown, New Jersey. From 1975 to 1985 he worked at Warner Lambert Pharamaceutical. Then from 1985 to 1990 Alfonso and Icodel engaged in their own business Brown’s Taxi Service.
In 1989, they both decided to migrate to Orlando, Florida. They settled down and became members of Grace Bible Church of Central Florida. From 1990 to 2004 Alfonso and Icodel became owners of Rock Restaurant.
In his free time, Alfonso enjoys playing dominos, watching wrestling, gardening, and baseball.
Alfonso is survived by his children, Anne-Marie Brown, Conrad Brown, Venice Brown (Richard), stepsons, Oswald Batchelor (Meritta), Dean Fraser (Takeshita), Omri Chambers (Lisa), Daniel Chambers (Yvette), 19 grandchildren and step grandchildren,
7 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Grace Bible Church of Central Florida, located at 801 Dorscher Rd, Orlando, FL 32818, on January 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
