ICKES, Rev. Alvin J., 88, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, Feb. 11th, 2011 at Woodlawn Funeral Home (400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734) with the visitation scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 10th, from 6pm-8pm. Rev. Ickes was born the son of Ramond A. and Hattie B. Ickes on November 13, 1922, in Wimber, PA. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp during WWII. Left to cherish their memories together are his loving wife of 66 years, Ruby B. Ickes; his children Dennis A. (Georgette) Ickes of Orlando, John W. (Gwen) Ickes of Las Vegas, NV, Linda S. (Ray) Rathell of Pasadena, MD, Charles R. (Stephanie) Ickes of Winter Park and Gail B. (John) Drake of Orlando; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and his sister, Alice Dalton of Lynchburg, VA.
