Born August 6th, 1930 in Kingston, Jamaica, his career started as an Industrial Carpenter. Upon relocating to New Jersey, he worked as a Mental Health Technician. In 1985, he relocated to Orlando, FL where he worked for Disney before retiring in 2001.
Daddy wasn’t the biggest man physically, but he had a huge heart and set a great example of hard work and taking care of family and loved ones. He was a true patriarch who became successful in life despite him and his siblings experiencing tragedy and childhood trauma growing up in Jamaica.
He was passionate about Jamaican politics and music. He had a very large collection of vinyl records. His favorite was “The Great Pretender” by The Platters. I guess this is where we all got our love for good music from.
As a hard worker he instilled his work ethics and promoted higher education in his children. He was always there as a provider who was an enforcer in us completing our school work and being respectful to all.
His greatest joy emanated from his five children and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four siblings, grandson Alexander and wife Thelma. He and Thelma had a passion for traveling, however, would always get lost driving from New Jersey to Brooklyn, NY, a 30-minute drive.
Andrew leaves behind a legacy cherished by family and friends. Our family is grateful that he is finally at peace after living a fulfilled life of 93 years.
We will miss you immensely.
