Angela was born in Grassano, Italy to Angelo and Giuseppina Fanizza on June 19, 1940.
After marrying her first husband, Harold Mayhugh – a US Naval Aviation Mechanic, she immigrated to America in 1959 without knowing the language. Angela learned English from friends while she worked at a shoe factory in Maine. Angela and Harold started a family together and resided at multiple military bases. Together they had three sons and a daughter.
Angela later married Robert Teresi. They moved to Florida and had one son together. In 1969, she became a US citizen. Angela continued to raise her five children as a single mom. In 1970, Angela’s mother immigrated to the US to help support her and her children.
She lived the remainder of her life in Central Florida, visiting home (Italy) often. She worked at Disney in Costuming and Entertainment for 30 years. She loved her job almost as much as hosting big family gatherings. She received the Partners in Excellence award at Disney and was considered everyone’s mama.
Angela is preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Giuseppina and her sister, Isabella.
Angela was a loving mother to five children; her sons, Harold Mayhugh, William (Teresa) Mayhugh, Jeffrey Mayhugh, and Anthony (Shelly Martin) Teresi, and her daughter, Cindy Arboneaux. Angela’s main joy in life was her family, including her grandchildren: Jourdan (Ashley) Punay, Diana (Lisa) Mayhugh, Steffanie Mayhugh, Sarah Mayhugh, and Steven (Leslie) Mayhugh. She is also survived by her sister, Giovanna Fanizza.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
