

REBECCA “BECKY” S. POLAK, 60, passed away June 29, 2010 in Lake Mary, FL. Becky was born in Orlando and grew up there and Louisiana. She loved the south, until her marriage in 1985 which took her to Indianapolis, IN. Becky quickly fell in love with the Hoosier culture and her new friends. She was a very qualified nurse who won the respect of her peers and doctors everywhere she worked. Becky’s career took her from an Orthopedic scrub nurse, through Cardiology, Neuroscience, Radical Head and Neck injuries, and Oncology/Hematology. Becky found her true calling and passion with the Hospice Program at Methodist Hospital. Becky’s health began to decline in the late 1990’s forcing her stop her professional career to devote her time and energies to her family and especially her son, Daniel. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and riding horses in her earlier years. Becky is preceded in death by her father, James Spell and brother, Billy Spell. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Brad, son, Daniel Zachary Harrison Polak, mother, Erea Spell, brothers, James (Glenda) Spell, Harvey (Ivodean) Spell, Ken (Judy) Spell and sister-in-law, Pat Spell Albritton. Visitation will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, July 7, at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, FL. with the service to follow at 3 pm. A memorial visitation and Celebration of Life are scheduled for July 9 between 4pm and 7 pm at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd., Fishers, IN.
