Belinda was born on April 3, 1956, in Biloxi, Mississippi, and from the start brought a vibrant light and warm spirit to the world. Belinda married, Wallace Wilson, on March 1, 2005. Together, they built a life full of joy, love, and adventure. She was the heart and soul of every room she entered, always ready with a laugh, a hug, or a helping hand.
Belinda was the proud owner of Ms. Bee’s Popcorn & Candy Shoppe— where the charm of her personality was as much a draw as the treats she sold. But her truest pride and joy came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a constant presence in the lives of those she loved—supportive, encouraging, and fiercely devoted. She placed others before herself. Always. She poured her heart into raising and supporting her family, and she did it with grace, strength, and unwavering love.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace Wilson; her daughters, Stephanie Hamm (James), Carrie Wilson, and Janel Marella (Mark); and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Hamm, Jacob Hamm, Ava Johnson, Colin Marella, Andie Marella, and Elizabeth Marella. She also leaves behind her siblings Glen Burgess, Brian Burgess (Marie), Tammy Rogers (Jon), Robert Burgess (Lori), and Tina Conner (Michael), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who cherished her deeply.
Belinda’s passions were as bright and spirited as she was. She loved decorating for every occasion, hosting parties that brought people together, playing cards late into the night, and setting sail on cruises that gave her a sense of freedom and wonder. But above all, she loved her family—fiercely, completely, and without condition. Her faith in Christ was her foundation, and she carried it with quiet strength throughout her life.
Belinda was the kind of woman who made people feel seen, heard, and loved. She gave the best advice, the warmest hugs, and always had time to listen. Her absence leaves an ache that words can’t fully capture, but her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in those who were lucky enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something kind for someone in Belinda’s memory—share a laugh, host a gathering, or simply spend time with the ones you love. That’s what she would have wanted.
