GONZALEZ-HERNANDEZ, BENITO REINALDO, the youngest of eight children, was born April 3, 1927 in Cuba. He played on the Cuban St. Louis Cardinals baseball team in the late 40s-early 50s as a pitcher. Benito married his wife, Ana Maria Lopez, in 1954. In 1974 he immigrated to the United States and made a home in Orlando, FL. Benito retired from Borden Dairy with the close of their Orlando plant. He raised finches and canaries as a hobby. Benito died in his home on January 21st, 2013. He is survived by his only daughter, Carmen R. Elo, and his grandchildren Ana M. Elo and Andrew P. Elo.
Viewing at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
