Betty Marie Beckett

Betty Marie Beckett, 90, of Orlando, FL went to be with her Lord on May 7, 2014. She was born to the late Carlton Labon and Effie Asenath Johnson in Cannonsburg, MI on June 16, 1923. She graduated from Rockford High School (MI) in 1941. Betty sewed parachutes during WWII and spent her life caring for her family. Betty married her late husband Richard Beckett on October 30, 1948 in Cannonsburg, MI and they honeymooned in Washington D.C. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Betty will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in her passing by her husband of 49 years, Richard Beckett; Daughter Sheila G. Burch; Brother Vern Johnson; Sister Esther Beckett; and Grandson Christopher Donahey.

Betty is survived by her daughter Renae Donahey (Mike) of Gotha, FL; Son Garth Beckett (Kristie) of Clarksville, TN; Brother Paul Johnson of Three Rivers, MI; Sister Ruth Johnson of North Augusta, SC; 6 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters-in-Law Alice Shear, Peggy Clifford, Bobbi Jo Ellens, Frannie, Fran, Gert, Nancy, and Norma Beckett; Brothers-in-Law Raymond and Bill Beckett and many, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6-9pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.

Service will take place Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10am at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow Service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
