Bill Manson

Bill Manson of Orlando, Florida (formerly of the Town of Tonawanda, NY), passed away peacefully on February 2, 2013, at home with his family by his side. Born in Buffalo, NY on May 30, 1948 to the late William and Helen Manson, Bill is the beloved husband of Barbara, father of Michael and Matthew Schimmel, dear brother of Sally Carlson and Deborah Manson also survived by Barb’s Family of St. Louis, MO and many nieces and nephews.

During Bill’s life he worked hard for Disney, and played hard with the Buffalo Gemini’s semi-pro football team, the Buffalo Old Boys Rugby team, the Orlando Rugby Club and lived life to the fullest. Bill serviced his country as a Marine Lance Corporal in Vietnam. He always had a quick smile and a helping hand for those that needed it.

Bill fought a courageous four year battle against mantle cell lymphoma. With every setback his comment was “It’s just another bump in the road. We’ll get over it.”

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, FL.

We will miss him dearly.
