

Carl W. Mobley, 85, of Belle Isle, Florida passed away on December 21, 2013. He was born on January 2, 1928 to the late Rufus C. and Maude Mobley in Glen St. Mary, Florida. Carl enlisted in military service at the age of 18. While stationed in Colorado, Carl met his wife of 64 1/2 years, Elizabeth, while roller skating. Together, they raised two children, Diane and David. Carl retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. After his military retirement, Carl was a Display Manager for ABC Liquors. At one point in time, Carl spent more time doing genealogy than his actual career and was very gifted at such. He also spent many Fridays and Saturdays video taping the races in New Smyrna and Bithlo to later supply videos to drivers and news stations. He even earned the title "Captain Video" for his time at the races. Carl was a tremendous husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He will be deeply missed by his family, but never forgotten.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Mobley; and his brother, Michael Patrick Mobley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Liz Mobley; Daughter Diane Bottoms; Grandkids Jennifer Rich, Michael McLeod, Cara McLeod and Sara McLeod; 6 Great-Grandsons; Sisters Dorothy Lee Mobley Barnes and Carolyn Elizabeth Mobley Russell; and his step-mother Fannie Kirby.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am - 10:00am on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Conway United Methodist Church. Service will follow at 10:00am. Burial to follow Service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
