David Thoren Swanson

Dave, son of Walter and Lilly Swanson, was born and raised in West Hartford CT among 4 siblings. He attended Conard High School and served in the Coast Guard.

His travels led him to settle in Vancouver Canada where he had his four children. Here, Dave apprenticed as a window and door installer and becoming a master of his craft, he eventually owned his own company.

Dave returned to CT in 1997 and began his own successful company before retiring to Florida.

Dave was known for his wonderful sense of humor and sass. He was a great mentor to many and had a huge love for animals. What gave him the most joy and pride in his life was the love he had for his children, all of whom were lovingly at his side during his last week of life, while reminiscing, exchanging jokes and expressing love, his family gave him quite the send off!

Dave is survived in Florida by Patricia Seymour Cline, his devoted companion and best friend. He is also survived by his children son Wesley, wife Andrea and granddaughter Naomi, daughter Jessica, husband Chris and grandson Ari, daughter Paige, husband Grayson and grandson Theo and son Tyler and fiancée Krista. Lauren, Jamie and Brian Tancredi rounded out the beautiful blending of his extended family.

Dave also left his Brother Robert and wife Ans Swanson of Southington, CT and his twin sister Donna and her husband Fred Evans. His brother Kenny and sister Norma passed before him.

Swanny left his mark on all of us and will not be soon forgotten.
