Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Gruseck

Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Wahl Baumherr. She and her husband, the late Raymond W. Gruseck, raised their family and retired to Florida and upon his death in 1995, Betty decided that South Carolina was where she wanted to live, which is where she remained in Surfside Beach. She was a member of Surfside Moose Lodge, H2U Club of Grand Strand Hospital and the50's Plus Club. In addition, she loved to travel with her dear friend Doris "Ditty" Martin.

Surviving Betty are 2 daughters: Cheryl Creasy (Jeff) of Oviedo, FL and Brenda Dunham (Richard) of Navarre, FL; 4 grandchildren: Megan Creasy, Christina, Jonathan and Matthew Dunham; 2 sisters: Marie Baumer, Grace Bloemker; brother: William Baumher and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 21, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church-Daily Chapel followed by interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 North Fraser St., Georgetown, SC 29440 or the American Stroke Association , www.strokeassociation.org.
