I started as a customer of CFH in the 90's. Glenn always had time to share his knowledge and love of the hobby.   He was a true gentleman who became a friend over the years.
My thoughts are with Sharron,  Nina and Joseph. He will be greatly missed from across the pond.

I was a customer of Glenn’s since the late 80’s. His and Sharon’s hobby shop was a bright spot for the west side of town. Not only being a great shop owner to deal with, Glenn offered me valuable insights for dealing with the sometimes pesky issues of working with family and/or the occasional difficult customer (which I’ve done for 40 years). In his later years, Glenn was a customer of my shop and was a pleasure to deal with. He treated his visits  as a learning experience and almost seemed like a kid in a candy store.
My wife, Monique, and I offer our condolences to his wonderful wife, Sharon, his daughter and her husband, Nina and Joseph, and family and friends who were close to this good man. He will be missed.

My  husband and I have lived across the street from Glenn and Sharon for 27 years.  They have been the best neighbors anyone could have ever asked for.  When my husband had his heart surgery, several years ago, Glenn came over and mowed the lawn for him until he was able to do it again.  I have heard him outside working on his yard or maybe one of his planes, he would have the BEST TUNES ON!!!!! He played all genres of music and I enjoyed listening to every tune he played.  I will miss that.  Every time he saw me he always said "Lookin good Tee!"   I never saw him that he didn't have a smile and a kind word to say.  Sharon I cannot begin to imagine how much you will miss him.  I just know that the world was a BETTER place with him in it.  If there is  ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING we can do, we are here for you. 

I have many memories with Glenn starting with the 7:30 PE class at Jackson High. He was such a beautiful person who took me in as a friend. My sincere condolences to Sharon and family for their loss. RIP my dear friend. 

I’ll never forget you taking me out boating on Lake Davis. Those poor ducks. Lol. You and Sharon treated me like a son of your own. I’ll always remember those days as some of the best days and years  of my life. 

I first met Glenn when I was just 12 and wanted an RC car. Glenn was so friendly and always so helpful teaching me how to do things. He was such a positive role model.  Loved that guy and hearing his stories. 


Mr. Glenn will be greatly missed by all local RC enthusiasts who traded at his store. To my knowledge Central Florida Hobbies was the oldest RC hobby store in Orlando and only closed its doors a couple years ago. In 1989 Mr. Glenn took me under his wings and started teaching me aboutmany aspects of RC cars and trucks including how to tune, and break down nitro engines. He always had a great love for the hobby and the patience to teach serious customers the ropes. Please keep his lovely wife Sharon Harkey, their daughter Nina and son in law Joseph in your prayers. RIP Me. Glenn.

Sharon, I am so sad to hear about Glenn. What a wonderful person who never gave up on locating his distant cousin Lydia and Evette. So glad we had the chance to him and share stories. I know he loved you and his daughter and poor Aunt Beulah who must be heartbroken. May God help you during this time.

Every time I saw Glenn he was always smiling and kind to everyone. We will miss his light and kindness 💗🙏🏻

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Glenn. What a wonderful man he was. He was an awesome neighbor to myself and my mother for so many years. My deepest condolences to all his family and friends.

I have known Glenn  and Sharon for forty six years.I meet him and his brother Jay when I was seventeen years old and learned a lot about cars from him.He took me and some of my friends under his wing and helped us build and maintain our cars.He was also a lover of music and used to amaze me back in the seventies when he could tell you the names of songs  and the artist who recorded and sang them from the fifties and sixties.We could never stump him.I lost track of him when he and Sharon left Miami and moved to the Orlando area.I reconnected through facebook about three years ago and discovered he and Sharon lived a few miles away for Orlando Dodge which is where I have been buying my cars and trucks since 1982.I am glad I got to see him in 2019 after his by pass and stroke.I moved up to Lake County  in 2020 and was looking forward to spending some time with them both.I am sorry that I had not been able to see him because of covid but am glad I got to reconnect and reminisce about old times when I did see him.He was a great guy and will be sorely missed.Rest in peace my friend.

I knew Mr Harkey over 20 years ago, he was always a pleasant person full of life,always smiling and an amazing person, He will be dearly missed! My condolences to his wife and the entire family!

I cannot express in words how blessed I am to have had the opportunity to be a part of Glenn and Sharon’s lives. As a nurse, most of the people I have been blessed to know, I met in some of the most difficult times of their lives. I care for all of them as I would care for my own family and as I would want to be cared for. But there are times that the Lord selects certain patients that impact your life as much as you impact theirs. Glenn Lee Harkey was one of these patients the Lord selected for me.  His smile, his voice saying my name “Miss Kelley, telling his beloved wife Sharon “I love you baby” and his “yes ma’am” , oh and how he loved it when I called him “handsome”, those are moments that will forever be ingrained in my heart. In my 37 years of healthcare this is the hardest loss for me because Glenn and Sharon became more than clients, they became family. I only had a short 7 months with this wonderful man on this earth, I prayed daily for so much more time but I know we will meet again and I have Faith that  our Father’s timing is flawless even though we do not always understand it. I know that this bond of family, that God put in place on July3, 2020, will never be broken. To his beloved wife/the love of his life Sharon & beautiful daughter Nina, I feel very honored to that I had the opportunity to serve your family, share in joy of Glenn’s  improvements and be able to offer comfort with his decline. He is in the arms of the Lord and I am praying for comfort for all of you and hope you know I will always be here for you.
