Gloria Joan Rice

Born 09/28/1934, at Huntington, WV, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Marion Gunnoe and Othel Lenore (Morris) Gunnoe. In addition to her parents , Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carlos Daniel Rice, on 08/02/1998; along with a brother and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Carlos David and wife Janet, Lillian Alabama, Richard and wife Tami, Bella Vista Arkansas, daughter, Susie Arundle and husband Gary, Centennial Colorado. Also one sister Marlene Gunnoe, Orlando Florida, and numerous grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Joan was an active member of the Center Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, where she was the social director of the Prime Time Cruisers. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who shared your laugher, tears and dreams through the years.

Joan’s civic involvement included serving as President of Pine Castle Safe Communities for seven years and was Editor of Pine Castle Community Sentinel. She was on the committee of National Neighborhood Day with Neighborhood Services, Orange County, Florida. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3498 Auxiliary, past member of the Lions Club Auxiliary, Orlando. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and active in the Alpha Omega Master chapter, Orlando.

The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, Florida.
