Her ashes will be interred next to her husband at Woodlawn Memorial Park at a later date. Helen loved to dance and offered her caregiver a dancing lesson, last month, at age 95! Born in Detroit on April 10th, 1915, she moved to College Park in 1946, with her two pre-school children; Patricia and William Cossin. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter “Bud” Holloway and her son, William of Hayesville NC. Helen loved her community of College Park and served it well as an active member of the College Park Methodist Church from its’ beginning; past president, College Park Women’s Civic Club; past president, College Park Lion’s Auxiliary; founder and past president, Edgewood Boy’s Ranch Mom’s Club; past president, Republican Women’s Club; a 50 year member of SOROSIS; and a member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She was an accomplished artist, having won several blue ribbons for her paintings at local arts and crafts shows. She received a Lifetime Realtor of Excellence Award upon her retirement from that profession. She gave Red Cross swimming lessons at the old Aquasium and taught modeling and etiquette to the young ladies at Pat Flesher’s School of Charm. She loved to travel to visit her daughter in such interesting locales as Tokyo, London, and County Cork, Ireland, where she kissed the Blarney Stone. However, ballroom dancing remained her passion over her many years of life. She danced until the age of 85, and in 3 inch heels, no less. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Wayne) Jones of Winter Park; her brother, Ray (Adeline) Hock of Orlando; her sister, June Wiggins of Winter Haven; her niece, Joan (Red) Christensen of Winter Springs; and her daughter-in-law, Joyce Cossin of Park City, Utah. Surviving grandchildren are Edgar, Robin, Susan and Jordan; as well as great grandchildren, Natalie, Nicholas, Bailey, and many other family members who she loved so dearly.
