Henry (“Hank”) Michael Marino passed away peacefully with family around him at his home in Ocala on April 15, 2026, at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Junia (82); his sister, Mary Jayne (76); and his four children from his marriage to Pauline, who died in 1980: Michael Henry (71), William Perry (66), Anna Marie (61), and Susan Marie (57). He is also lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Hank was born in Niles, Ohio, and attended Leavittsburg High School, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Pauline (Olenik). In 1954, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he devoted his life to the field of Education, building a distinguished career as a teacher, coach, counselor, and principal.
In 1971, Hank moved his family to Florida, where he continued his work in Education as an administrator for more than three decades. He served as a school administrator at Saint Andrews Catholic School, as well as in Collier and Orange County Public Schools, and at Holy Family Catholic School. Throughout his career, he was deeply committed to his faculty and students, finding great joy in mentoring them—and engaging them with his signature wit and humor.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Hank was an original Orlando Magic season ticket holder and attended games into his 80s. In his younger years, he was a talented baseball and basketball player, later excelling as a coach. He also became an accomplished senior tennis player, winning numerous tournaments across Florida. He thoroughly enjoyed card games with family and friends. At the card table, he was known as a formidable—and often unbeatable—opponent, no matter the game.
Hank’s Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted member of his parish community, serving as a leader in the Cursillo Movement, a deacon at Holy Family, and a vigil volunteer at Mary Queen of the Universe Basilica and Shrine.
With a life well lived, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and steady guidance that will remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he now rest in God’s grace in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church (5125 S. Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, FL) at 11 a.m. on June 11, 2026, followed by a graveside service with military honors and a Celebration of Life reception at Woodlawn Memorial Park (400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road
