Jean Etta LaPointe was a long-time resident of Orlando, Florida. She was born and raised in Long Island, New York where she eventually met her beloved husband, Jack LaPointe. Jean and Jack moved to Orlando in 1972 where they lived for the rest of their lives and raised their only child, Douglas, who was her greatest love.
Our beloved Jean was a loving wife, doting mom and mother-in-law, and passionate grandma. Jean spent her work life as legal secretary, but her first job was always that of a mom. She loved rock and roll, especially Elvis Presley. She often referred to herself as a “rock mom,” dedicated to her electric guitar playing son. Jean also loved golfing, spending her golden years playing in her long-time community of Ventura Country Club. Her true happiness was spending time with her two beautiful grandchildren, Katie and Cameron and being a mom and grandma to Florida State Seminole graduates.
Jean is now resting peacefully in the warm embrace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven with her beloved husband. She is survived by her son, Douglas John LaPointe; daughter-in-law, Tiffany (Chill) LaPointe; granddaughter, Katie Lane LaPointe; grandson, John Cameron LaPointe; sister-in-law, Claudette (LaPointe) Curtin; nephew, Jack Curtin and his family; nephew, Tom Curtin; cousin, Denise Rusch, and her family, along with extended family and many friends and loved ones.
