Jessie Talbott

Jessie Talbott was born on April 7, 1922 in Elm Grove, West Virginia. She was raised in West Virginia and graduated from West Liberty State College and was a home economics teacher for 30 years. She married Abraham Albert Lidy in 1942. Jessie is survived by their only child, Ruth Ellen Koons of Clermont. After her husband passed away in 1950, Jessie moved to Steubenville, Ohio. She married Maurice Talbott in 1952 and they raised Ruth in Ohio. In 1978, Jessie moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she lived next door to her brother Oliver Jenkins. She enjoyed the beach life for 8 years and eventually moved to Winter Garden, Florida in 1986. Jessie had three grandchildren: Kevin Albert, Kirk Charles, and Kimberly Nicole. She was predeceased by her grandson; Kevin who she always remembered brought her roses on her birthday. Jessie has four great grandchildren who she absolutely adored: Noah Kevin Barefoot, Sarah Ellen Barefoot, Kyle Goodman Koons, and Kieran Thomas Koons.

Jessie spent many years volunteering countless hours at West Orange Hospital and eventually Health Central Hospital in Ocoee. She was an avid gardener and often sold her home grown fruits and vegetables to local produce markets. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and shopping. Jessie was called home to heaven on Monday, April 1, 2013 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, Florida. The funeral will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00am at Oakland Presbyterian Church in Oakland, Florida. The family will have a private graveside service later in April.
