To John's entire family, I am sorry for your loss.  I have just found out about John's passing.  I worked with John many moons ago at Phoenix in Hartford, CT.  He was a good soul, a fun guy and a fellow Domer which made him awesome to work with and to know.  Although we lost touch after those days, many on that team still have great memories of the good times that we shared. God bless.

On behalf of our entire Tequesta General Employee Pension Board, we'd like to say that It was a sincere pleasure to have gotten to know John over past several years.  Not only did John possess certain technical skills but also the unique ability to explain and present with such clarity and, yes with a twist of humor from time to time as well.  Yes his loss will be felt - but his contributions never forgotten!

To John's family. John and I attended many pension board meetings over the years that he worked for Dana Investments.  I always found John to be a true professional and a warm and friendly person.  His loss will be felt by all of us in the pension community. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I've known John since the day he joined us at SunBank Capital Management here in Orlando.  I've traveled with him for business and had many life discussions about children and family issues.  To his kids, he truly loved you and always tried to his best for you.  For me, he was genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever known and he always had a smile.  May the good Lord bless your family with his absence.

Dear Hamlin Family, my name is Mike Beitzinger and I am the president of the Notre Dame Club of Greater Sarasota.  John contacted me last summer and asked about joining our club.  I invited John to one of our board meetings and John readily jumped in and joined our golf tournament committee and helped put together our very first golf tournament last November.  John regularly contributed to our meetings and he will be sorely missed.  On behalf of the entire Notre Dame Club of Greater Sarasota our condolences to you all.

On behalf of the City of Belle Glade, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of John Hamlin.  John was one of the softest spoken presenters at our Pension Board meetings, and was always a delightful person.  He will truly be missed.

To John's family, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.  John was a great individual and fond friend.  I met John our first year at Morrissey Hall.  John and Mike McCormick  were already best friends when they invited Jack McCarthy and me to become room mates with them for our Sophomore year at Notre Dame.  That year began a friendship that still burns brightly in my heart today.  John reached out to me again early last fall to reconnect.  I was 10 feet off the ground outside on a ladder painting the house trim when my phone rang and it was John.  I almost lost my balance.  I stood on that ladder for nearly an hour sharing old times and new times with a good buddy.  How thrilled I was to get reconnected with John.  That quickly led to the four of us old roomies spending many weekends "together" texting and laughing with each other during ND football games.  It was like old times again when we would set our watches for dinner at the dining hall so we could all get back to our dorm room in time to watch Gun Smoke on the little black and white TV we had in our "lounge" before beginning our evening studies. The four of us even began talking about getting together for a reunion later this year at a home game which I was so looking forward to.  I can't tell you how heartbroken I was when I heard of John's passing.  He was fun, energetic, had a great sense of humor and was the kind of guy everyone enjoyed spending time with.  I feel fortunate and blessed that John was a part of my life.  Please accept my heartfelt sympathy during this very difficult time.  God Bless.

So very sorry for the sudden loss of John in each of your lives!!  I first met John when he came into my BFF Connies life.....we've celebrated their marriage, births of children and had some wonderful times, we've cried at the loss of their son Michael.  Although I just met Tom, Kathy and Suzy, I feel I know you thru John and am so sorry for the loss of your brother..Connie, Samantha, Emily and Adam...words cannot express how saddened I am for a loss that has crushed your world.  He does live on in hearts and memories thru each of you!

To my Aunt Char, Uncle Dick, Tom, Suzy, Kathie, Emily, Samantha, and Adam I am so very sorry about this great loss of your wonderful John. He was a sweet man with a heart of gold, my cousin whom I rarely got to see this side of Heaven, but I know he is with Jesus now. God blessed us with a last conversation a few months back that confirmed his eternal destination. May God bless you all with His peace during this time of great sorrow.

God brings people into our lives for many reasons, some bring lessons, some bring joy but all bring blessings. I will say my life is much more blessed for John Hamlin being in it. In a short time he taught me to laugh more, to see people in a kinder and more gentle way, to forgive those that have hurt us and to always know that no matter what, God has a plan and a reason for all that happens.

He had a smile that could light up a room, a laugh that was contagious and a great sense of humor.

We were shocked and very saddened to hear of John's passing. I spent a lot of my youth at Hamlins and have many good memories. Are prayers are with you all.

To Dick, Charolotte, Kathy, Tom,Suzy,Connie,Sam,Emily and Adam, my deepest condolences for the sudden and tragic loss of your son, brother, husband and father who also happened to be my best friend.  I am torn by the great memories of my visit with John last week and the realization that I missed something terrible that was about to happen. I am so very sorry.  He talked about all of you at various times last week and of the love, yes he said that word, he had for you all.  He seemed happy, he beat me in golf and I caught the bigger fish.  He will be missed in so many ways.  A mass for John will be celebrated in Santisimo Sacremento Parish, Peru by Father Joe Uhen, Notre Dame Class of 1980's chaplain who was a dorm mate of John and I.  The tears are flowing freely so I  best leave now, God Bless John Hamlin!
