

Martin, Karen L. , 48, ended her 3 1/2 year battle with breast cancer on Saturday, May 28, 2011. Born to Bill and Ruth (Poole) Rittenhouse on July 19th, 1962 in Elwood, IN. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1980 and moved to Orlando in 1986. Karen kept an amazing outlook on life through her struggles with cancer. She was a great inspiration to those around her. Her motto was always to "keep it as normal as possible", and as abnormal as her condition was, Karen kept her head held high and continued to be the loving Mother and Wife she had always been. She was employed as a clerk of the courts in the civil division of the Orange County Clerk of Courts for 9-1/2 years. She was admired and loved by those who surrounded her and will forever be missed and in their hearts.
Karen is survived by her parents; Bill and Ruth Rittenhouse, her brother; Bill Rittenhouse, her husband; David Martin, her two sons; Christopher Martin (Cynthia) and Samuel Martin, her grandson; Ayden Joseph Martin, and a host of extended family members that reside in Indiana.
A memorial service will be held in Karen's honor at Wodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road Gotha, FL 34734 on Saturday June 4th, 2011 at 12:30 PM. A gathering for family and friends will be held immediately following the service, where lunch and refreshments will be provided.
