

Kathryn Earnhart, aged 94, went to be with her Lord on October 20, 2023, in Orlando, Florida. She was the daughter of Gaiel and Kathleen Earnhart and was born in Hammond, Indiana on March 2, 1929. She had an older brother (Melvin) and sister (Elizabeth) who preceded her in death.
She grew up in Indiana where she enjoyed visiting her aunt Marie and grandparents on their farms. She graduated from Hammond High School in 1947. Kathryn's first job was working at Miner-Dunn's Restaurant in Hammond, IN and Chicago, Illinois. She also worked at Swift & Company's Plant Food Division in Calumet City, IL as an Order writer, moving up to Credit Manager, Secretary for the Manager, Assistant Manager, and finally Accounting Manager.
Kathryn was previously married to Ray Darling (deceased). They moved to Orlando, Florida in 1958 and raised one son and two daughters there. They divorced in 1992.
Kathryn loved music and dancing, especially in Square Dance and Round Dance clubs. It was through this that she met Howard Carr, and they married in 1994. Kathryn and Howard danced together all over the United States in many shows and competitions. Kathryn also became a member of Elizabeth Taylor’s Central Florida “Fab Follies” troupe where she danced and sang in cabaret style shows for over 10 years.
She was a member of Orlando’s Zion and Hope Lutheran Churches and worked as a Church Secretary for 25 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Pike and Rebecca Cone, one son, David Darling, one stepson, Perry Carr, and one stepdaughter Judy McGeary. Her extended family includes 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, Florida on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 1:00pm
