He was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 2, 1919 to the late Rocco and Maria Ciani.
Leonard was an automotive mechanic and had his own service station in Wallington, New Jersey.
He ran an Army motor pool during his time in World War II. As a young man, he enjoyed playing piano and accordion in various small bands. His leisure time was enjoyed bowling and fixing "anything" ...if it was mechanical, Lenny would take it apart and put it back together again.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Laura (Lindsey) Ciani, sisters Rose and Marie, and brothers Ermino, Charles and Raymond.
Leonard is survived by his three children: Leonard, Jr. (Susan), Lorraine Ciani, Paul (Kathleen); grandchildren: Laura Ann Middleton, Jean Ciani, Anthony Ciani, Jessica Ciani-Dausch, Michael Ciani, David Ciani; great grandchildren: Austin Gorby, Annette Ciani-Dausch, Sabina Ciani-Dausch, Leonardo Ciani-Dausch and Ramona Ciani-Dausch.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
Visitation followed by Catholic Liturgy and Interment with Military Honors
will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 beginning at 10:00am.
