Leslie Gardner was born August 25th, 1947 in Tweedside Clarendon, Jamaica to the parents of Kadmiel and Rebecca (Becan) Gardner. He was one of thirteen siblings. Leslie was married on December 16th, 1972 to his wife Gloria (Jackson) Gardner. They have a total of five children. He taught at the Morgan’s Forest All Age School in Clarendon. He passed the JSC and the Jamaica Local examinations. Then he moved to Kingston and worked at the Gleaner Company as a printer in Jamaica. When he came to America in 1986, he worked diligently through various jobs to support his family. While working at Campus Crusade for Christ for four years, he found his true calling to become a Pastor. The Lord spoke to his wife and after much prayer; they obeyed, and started a church in their home. What started in their living room grew into the church they have today. Words such as kind, humble, and patient were best used to describe his personality. His notable hobbies were gardening fruits and vegetables, his favorites were oranges, pumpkins, and callaloo. He was mostly known for growing Sorrel, especially around Christmas time. He was a lover of birds, occasionally painted flowers, and played his guitar. And above all, he loved to study the word of God.
Leslie is survived by his spouse Gloria; his five children: Andre Gardner, Wayne Gardner, Duian Gardner, Kesia (Gardner) Singletary, and Alecia Gardner; his ten grandchildren: Hanane Gardner, Zada Gardner, Skylar Gardner, Fenix Gardner, Aleixie Gardner, Kristina Gardner, Austin Gardner, Nicholas Gardner, Joshua Singletary, and Alana Singletary; his siblings Chester, Enoch, Landford, Ken, Patrick, Adassah, Dulfenia, Mary, Martha, Sonia, and Carol; and his many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Leslie is predeceased by his brother John Gardner.
Pastor Leslie Francis Gardner is now resting in peace.
