

Marian Plummer Ecker passed away in her home on August 29, 2015 in Casselberry, FL due to complications of cancer. She was 97.Marian was born on May 16, 1918 in Lyndonville, NY to her parents, Edward and Helen Plummer. She married Lloyd Ecker on February 15, 1941 in Medina, NY. The Eckers ran a farm in Medina until they moved to Orlando, FL in 1956 where they both worked at Martin Marietta Corporation. She retired in 1972 and spent 43+ years as both a member of and in service to the VFW Women’s Auxiliary where she was in charge of Bingo as well as cooking and serving meals. She was an expert in sewing, crocheting, and crafts. She served others as a teacher, sharing her knowledge both personally and professionally at every opportunity.Marian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Nancy Ecker of Apopka, FL; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Auer of Jasper, FL; four grandchildren, Douglas Jr., Amy and Bradley Ecker, and Jennifer Auer-Bradley; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Krysta and Evelyn Ecker, Christine and Lauren Bradley. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 3, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road Gotha, Florida 34734. Burial will take place in All Faiths Memorial Park, 1390 Park Dr. Casselberry, Florida 32707. Woodlawn Funeral Home is entrusted to arrangements.
