Marti was born July 30, 1950 and attended Maynard Evans High School and later received her BS and Master’s degree in Education graduating with distinction from the University of Central Florida.
Marti dedicated her professional life to teaching children, first in the classroom at the elementary school level and later with the Orange County Public Schools Educational Leadership Center. With her boundless energy and devotion to education she also became an adjunct professor with several universities travelling throughout the US and Europe where she conducted Positive Education workshops, authored several books and courses about positive discipline and became a much sought after keynote speaker. A reciprocate of many teaching awards she was admired by her peers and honored by numerous school districts.
Her love for children and her family was only matched by her love for animals. Over the years she adopted 22 dogs, 4 horses and a donkey. She could not pass a hurt or abandoned animal without bringing it home and nurturing it back to health.
Marti also loved gardening and had a large rose garden that rivaled many professional gardens.
In addition to her immediate family, Marti leaves her sisters Jo Elkins and Randie Olofson along with several nieces and nephews. Marti was predeceased by her parents, Clay and Tootsie Rouser.
