I was just thinking of Mary Jo tonight. She was the first person to hire me from Edgewood ranch.  I was only 15.  She was amazing, kind, strong ...tiny but a force of nature.  I was hoping I could say Hi and thank her for all she did for me.  I was lucky to have known her even if only for a brief time.                       Mary K

Over the years, My dear friend, Mary Jo amazed me with her talent in so many areas and for such a little lady, she had a dynamic,and fearless personality.
She was passionate about each of you followed by the Edgewood Children's Ranch. I count myself fortunate to have called her my friend.

Dear Ron, Peggy and girls, Mary Jo and I first met in the second grade at Southside Elementary School. We were destined to be life-long friends. Mary Jo moved away but her second grade picture remained in a special place in my home where I saw it every day. My mother said I used to cry because I missed her so much. As fate and God would have it Mary Jo reappeared in the sixth grade at Arlington Elementary and I recognized her on the play ground. It was like a miracle when we were re-united. I loved her dearly and I am so thankful that she is no longer suffering. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Helen (Schuster) Byrd

Susan and I are sorry to learn of the news of the death of Mary Jo.  As one of my older cousins I only saw her once and a while.  She was always smiling.  I know you will miss her deeply.  Our prayers are with you during this time of grief and tragic loss.  David Johnson
