
Richard Donald Burleson of Orlando, Florida passed away on July 30, 2023 shortly after his 66th birthday. He was born on July 23, 1957 in Wilmington, Ohio to the late Robert Leon Burleson & Patricia June (Wellington) Burleson.
Richard graduated from Little Miami High School in Morrow, Ohio in 1975. He was the quarterback of the football team, broke several school records running track, and also played on the basketball team.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986 with a BS in Psychology; went on to receive an MS in Psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1993; and, attended the University of Sarasota, The New School in Sarasota, Florida for his Ph.D. in Psychology.
Richard made his living as a psychologist, loved music, and remained an avid sports fan of Xavier University, The Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, Purdue University, The Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds.
He is survived by his son, Michael Frank Burleson; siblings, David Lee Burleson (Carol) and Shirley Burleson Mackey (Jay); nephews, Adam Burleson (Toni), Robert Mackey (Amelia), and Craig Mackey; nieces, Patricia Ann Mackey, Kelly Burleson, Rikki Burleson, and Dana Burleson Mackey; great nephews, Carter Daniel Mackey and Xander Jay Mackey; and great niece, Kinsley Kay Mackey.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
A personal family memorial will be held at a later date.
