Ruth was an amazing woman, amazingly resilient, amazingly optimistic, amazingly caring.  She and her husband, Jerry Blatt, were friends of my parents.  I lost both of them many years ago, but Ruth would call me...and she often did...I could hear my mother in her words and her voice.  “Ruth, how have you been?”  She would answer,  “How should I be?  I am old, but I am not dead yet!  You could call more often, you know!”  Then we would talk about my parents and our lives so many years ago.  And now she has gone.  I will cherish her cheerful love and concern.  Rest In Peace, Dear Friend!  I hope there is a mahjong game in heaven!
