Sara Bradshaw Nicholson

Sara Bradshaw Nicholson, 93 of Orlando, Florida passed away January 30, 2025. Born on December 14, 1931 in Luverne, Alabama, she was the oldest child of Herman M. and Leona C. Bradshaw. She was married to Dan Nicholson Jr. for 68 years prior to his death in 2018. Sara and Dan were faithful members of the Pine Hills Church of Christ. Sara volunteered in the school clinics when her children were in school, she was active in the PTA and involved in Boy Scout Troop 227 with Dan and her sons. She was a founding member of the Robinswood Garden Club and club leader of the Dixie Shamrocks 4H Club. Sara and Dan were inducted into the 4H Hall of Fame in 2001. Sara was fierce in her beliefs and generous to a fault.

Sara is predeceased by Dan, her parents and four siblings; Joyce Davis, Barbara Wilcox, James Bradshaw, David Bradshaw and grandson Sean James. She is survived by her children Danny H. Nicholson (Jennifer), Barry W. Nicholson and Sandra Nicholson Thompson (Jerry); grandchildren Veronica Nicholson, Hillary Nicholson, Lauren Struna, Todd James and Ryan Behe; eight great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A committal service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 12:00 PM followed by a reception back at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dan and Sara Nicholson 4H Volunteer of the Year Scholarship by mailing a check to the Orange County Extension Service, 6021 S. Conway Road, Orlando, FL 32812.
